British couples aren’t that much different from Columbus couples. A survey on the other side of the pond revealed that the Brit’s top 3 wedding dance songs are:
1. Can’t Help Falling in Love sung by Elvis Presley
Columbus Pro DJs can’t dispute this choice. After all, we’ve written about its greatness in previous blogposts.
2. Can’t Take My Eyes Off of You sung by Frankie Valli
You can see some nice dance choreography for Frankie’s song in the video above. Let’s face it, this song is timeless. Couples will still be dancing to it at weddings next century!
It was one of Frankie Valli’s biggest hits, reaching #2 on the Billboard charts in 1967. The song runs just over three minutes. That’s just about right for a first dance song. That’s long enough for you to demonstrate your dancing chops without dragging it on too long for guests itching to join you on the dance floor.
3. The Way You Look Tonight sung by Frank Sinatra
This is another standard that will never go away, thanks to Dorothy Fields great lyrics. True, Jerome Kerns’ music is memorable. True, Frank Sinatra’s interpretation of the song is classic. But Ms. Fields’ lyrics pull you into a world of beauty that stops time:
Some day, when I’m awfully low,
When the world is cold,
I will feel a glow just thinking of you,
And the way you look tonight.
What a first dance song!
The Brit’s rounded off their list with a string of vintage songs, most of them from yesteryear, including:
4. All of Me — John Legend
5. Unchained Melody — The Righteous Brothers
6. Your Song — Elton John
7. I Don’t Want to Miss a Thing — Aerosmith
8. Make You Feel My Love — Adele
9. Thinking Out Loud — Ed Sheeran
10. At Last — Etta James
