The bouquet toss isn’t the staple at weddings that it once was. A survey by The Knot reveals that less than 4 out of 10 weddings feature it anymore.
It seems a declining number of single women just aren’t interested in participating in this ritual anymore. And yet it provides such great photo/video ops.
It seems some couples don’t want to cut into the energy of the party by bringing everything to a halt with a bouquet toss. And yet it IS a centuries old tradition that involves your guests in a very fun way.

So the brides fakes the toss, spins around and walks it directly to the woman she wants to catch it, knowing the recipient’s boyfriend is ready to propose on the spot in front of all the guests.
It seems like she hesitates a little too long, which makes everyone a little nervous, until she finally assents by throwing her arms around her young man. Not sure this is a good idea. What if she said no? And typically, brides want the attention on themselves, not someone else. Nonetheless, this certainly spiced up this particular wedding celebration!
Bouquet toss innovations
If the bouquet toss isn’t your thing, some couples opt to pass the bouquet onto the couple in attendance that has been married the longest; or some like to pass it on to an engaged couple-in-waiting.
