- Be direct and precise in your instructions to your designated toasters. Give them a limit on how long they may talk.
- Tell them your MC (us) has been instructed to cut the mic at 30 seconds beyond the limit. We won’t actually do it, but it does make them more conscience of time.
- If someone simply won’t give up the mic, we can play a little music like they do at the television award shows as a signal to wrap it up. Hopefully, it never comes to that!
